Ty Oppermann
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR / HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

Coach Ty Oppermann (Coach Opp) is coming to Bartlett from Ellison HS where he has served as the Defensive Coordinator for the past 4 years.  This past season at Ellison, his defense led the district in nearly every defensive category. Highlights from that season include leading the district with 9 defensive touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 14 fumble recoveries, and 118 tackles for loss. The defense allowed only 83 yards rushing per game this past season. Placing 7 defensive players on 1 st Team All District and 4 on 2 nd Team All District. This included the Defensive Player of The Year for the second consecutive season and the Defensive Newcomer of The Year. The defense also had 3 players named to various All-State Teams. Have had players sign this year with Baylor, Tarleton, North Texas, and Texas A&M Kingsville from this year’s defense. As well as 1 to Baylor last year. Coach Opp has been coaching at Killeen ISD for the past 26 years, serving in various positions at Killeen High School, Manor Middle School, Harker Heights High School, and ending with Ellison High School for the past 10 years. He served as the Head Baseball Coach at Harker Heights for 3 years and at Ellison High School for the past 10 years. He was also the Defensive Coordinator at Harker Heights High School in 2012, leading that defense to the top of the district and into the state playoffs that season. Sending 3 All State and 2 All Americans players to Texas (2) and Sam Houston State. Coach Oppermann is married to his wife, Cindy, going on 28 years now. He has 2 English Bulldogs, Hank and Harley, and enjoys spending time with family. Coach Opp was born and raised in Temple and graduated from Academy High School in 1990.
